Forensic psychologists present psychological information to courts and legislatures. They are trained in different areas of psychology (such as social, clinical, developmental or cognitive psychology) and assume a number of roles, such as researcher, consultant to law enforcement, trial consultant or forensic evaluator. Forensic psychologists work in colleges or universities, law enforcement agencies and trial consulting firms, and some go into private practice as a consultant and evaluator.
